Returning for its seventh consecutive year, the 2016 Ion Hobana Colloquium is an one day conference designed to promote the research of speculative fiction showcasing some of the latest developments in this dynamic and evolving field.
The seventh edition of our annual Ion Hobana SF exegesis Colloquium is taking place on the 12th of November 2016 at the Romanian Cultural Institute in Bucharest.

The 2016 Ion Hobana Colloquium (seventh edition) is an opportunity for all those from around the world who are involved in the study of posthumanism, transhumanism, singularity and science fiction, to exchange ideas.
The Ion Hobana Colloquium provides a forum for discussion, collaboration and intellectual exchange for all those interested in this field of research, aiming to attract an international selection of delegates and providing a platform for presentation of current research, encouraging discussion in related subjects and the construction of crucial networks.
The main objective is to provide an intellectual platform with an international participation.
The 2016 Ion Hobana Colloquium aims to promote interdisciplinary studies in the speculative fiction field.
We invite proposals for individual paper presentations on the following theme:
“Posthumanism, Transhumanism, Singularity. Cultural theories and Science Fiction”
If you would like to present, start by submitting a proposal.
You will need the following: presentation type, short/long descriptions, keywords, focus, themes, and biographical information.
After we receive your presentation proposal, it moves to the evaluation step. We welcome ASAP the submission of proposals. All proposals will be reviewed shortly after the submission.
The full paper must be submitted up to the 1st of November 2016 and will be followed by the notification of paper acceptance.
